Remember when you had all the answers about parenting—in other words, when you were single? Then you got married, conceived your first child, and were instantly unsure of yourself. You decided you must consult the experts.
At least, that’s what happened to me. I spent my first pregnancy reading Dr. Sears and Greg and Lisa Popcak. I became a (theoretical) expert on attachment parenting. Once again, I knew just how parenting was supposed to look. I wrote up my plan for a natural childbirth. I hired a doula.
Then real life hit me. When I was two weeks overdue, with no contractions or dilation, my doctor convinced me to be induced. Three days on Pitocin, and I was only dilated to three centimeters. My ordeal “ended” in a C-section. Actually, it was just beginning.

Yup! As parents, I think we finally calm down when we accept that we are not in control and finally abandon our make-believe notion of what parenting looks like.

exactly . I was shocked when he showed me that only when we let go of control of our kids, only then is God free to to charge, free to form and mold our kids. If we hold on we are like a wall, a barrier between our kids and God

Lloyd, are you asking about Suscipio? It is designed to encourage women in their vocations, but I don’t think there’s a “No boys allowed” sign on the homepage, LOL. There are certainly very few posts that a man would not benefit from as well–and my post is approved for all eyes.
